Maureen Davies

Maureen's work is characterised by its vibrant use of colour. Subjects include local New Forest scenes as well as more exotic locations wherever inspiration strikes. Maureen was awarded the SAA Artist of the Year in 2007, has exhibited at the Pastel Society, Mall Galleries and won the prestigious Frank Herring Award in their Open Exhibition. In 2008 she was awarded the Talens Award at the Patchings Exhibition run by The Artist magazine. Maureen holds a Textile Degree from Central School of Art, London and a RSA bursary. Most of the paintings are pastel and inspired by sunlight and the way it transforms the landscape into colours and patterns. 

In 2011 Maureen Daviswas awarded The John Longley award at The Pastel Society and is a member of the SWA.
